Job description

Job Summary:
Chariot Energy, part of 174 Power Global, is a retail energy provider based in Houston, Texas, aiming to enhance the customer experience in the energy market. As a Full Stack Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain both front-end and back-end components of applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with our marketing, sales, and operations teams to implement user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces, including seamless mobile interfaces.
• Integrate authentication mechanisms in web applications using tools such as MSAL with Azure AD B2C and/or Microsoft Entra ID/External ID, ensuring secure and scalable user identity management across various user flows.
• Design and develop responsive, interactive front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks (specifically React), ensuring seamless real-time integration with backend REST APIs for dynamic data updates.
• Contribute to UX strategy by prototyping interactive concepts, refining user flows, and providing feedback on design iterations — balancing aesthetics with usability and business goals.
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems using C# and Azure technologies, with a focus on server-side processing, database interactions, and enterprise-grade system architecture.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs, primarily written as C# Azure functions to enable secure, efficient communication between backend services and front-end applications built with React and JavaScript.
• Build and integrate complex stored procedures and T-SQL operations within Azure SQL/Microsoft SQL Server, applying database best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
• Actively participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable backend code.
• Leverage Azure DevOps for full lifecycle management, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipeline automation, testing, monitoring, and cloud deployments across Azure infrastructure.
• Ensure secure, high-availability cloud applications by integrating authentication/authorization mechanisms, real-time monitoring (Application Insights), to maintain reliability of cloud services.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer (C#, Python, SQL, React/NextJS, REST APIs), including 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in Azure services, including but not limited Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, Azure DevOps (Git, CI/CD pipelines, Scripting), Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Redis.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and T-SQL, including stored procedure development, query optimization, and database best practices (Azure SQL, MS SQL Server).
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with strong experience in React, React Native (mobile) and/or NextJS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.
Preferred:
• Development and/or analyst experience in Energy Markets such as ERCOT, PJM, NYISO.
• Any Azure Certifications: Azure Developer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, etc.
• Extensive experience of developing in Azure Serverless environment.
• Experience with IaC tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
• Understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and Azure Active Directory (AAD) for identity and access management.
• Proficient in using design tools such as Figma to bridge the gap between design and development
Company:
Chariot Energy is a game-changing solar energy company delivering the next generation of solar power. Founded in 2019, the company is headquartered in Houston, USA, with a team of 11-50 employees. The company is currently Early Stage.
