Join Our Team as a CAD Engineering Tech - Oilfield Focus in Midland, TX!
Are you passionate about supporting upstream oil and gas operations with precise engineering documentation? We're seeking a dedicated CAD Engineering Technician who thrives in a dynamic environment, combines technical expertise with a keen eye for detail, and is eager to contribute to critical facility projects in the Midland, TX area. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple departments, all while working hands-on in the field and office.
What You'll Do:
  • Create, update, and maintain AutoCAD drawings for upstream production facilities, including layout drawings, meter and measurement details, process flow diagrams, and equipment configurations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Accounting, and Regulatory teams to ensure all documentation aligns with operational and compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify existing facilities, gather data, and ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Support upcoming well and facility projects by ensuring engineering documentation is prepared ahead of production startup.
  • Maintain organized engineering records and drawings, assisting with project tracking and documentation tasks.
  • Proactively prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines without compromising quality.

Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Willingness and valid driver's license to travel to field locations several times per month.
  • Clean driving record.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience working in industrial or field settings.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (training available).
  • Knowledge of oil and gas production facilities and operations.

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Relevant experience in the oilfield or industrial environment.
  • Basic understanding of engineering software applications, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to travel regularly to field locations.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to support multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
