Job description

What You’ll Do

As Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead the day to day operations of the software engineering team while ensuring our applications and systems are supported, continuously improved, and aligned with business needs.

You will:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineering professionals
• Build a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and technical excellence
• Ensure appropriate system support, cross training, resource coverage, and service levels
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, processes, and customer experience
• Partner with business leaders, development teams, support teams, and senior leadership to solve complex problems and deliver results
• Provide technical guidance and serve as an internal consultant to business and technology stakeholders
• Oversee documentation, processes, controls, and audit readiness for supported production systems
• Participate in incident and crisis management, change management, risk management, and business continuity planning
• Help prioritize projects and improvements that strengthen the team's performance and technology environment

Location: Portsmouth, NH | Hybrid - Requires 2 days per week in office

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of management experience
• Experience as a software engineer, technical lead, technical manager, business systems analyst, production support analyst, or similar technical role
• Strong software development and production experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript
• Strong SQL and database development experience
• Experience working with Windows, UNIX, and mid-range systems
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle
• Experience developing and mentoring technical professionals
• Experience supporting onshore/offshore development teams
• Experience with technical support, incident management, and crisis management
• Strong communication, organizational, decision making, and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast paced environment

Preferred

AWS cloud experience and certification is a plus.
