What you'll be able to do:

Prudent Engineering is seeking Construction Resident Engineer (RE) with bridge experience for position(s) in Syracuse, NY starting July 2026. Construction Resident Engineer is responsible for overseeing and inspecting bridge construction projects at various stages to ensure compliance with project plans, project specifications and regulations.
Hours of Work: Same as Contractor's hours, typically 7:00am-3:30pm with OT potential
The minimum requirements we seek:

  • NICET IV certification or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of experience within the field of work.
  • Prior New York State DOT and/or New York State Thruway inspection experience or similar experience working on bridge construction projects.
  • Proficiency in computer aided project administration is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • ACI Certified
  • OSHA 10 certification and knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to construction sites.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to Jamestown area construction sites.
