Job Summary:
Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Software Developer with GIS expertise to join their dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, focusing on geospatial applications and solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design, code, test, and debug software applications
• Develop and maintain GIS applications using ESRI technologies
• Collaborate with team members on software design and code reviews
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects
• Document technical specifications and maintain software documentation
• Participate in Agile development processes including daily stand-ups and sprint planning
• Implement security and data protection solutions
• Optimize application performance and scalability
• Create and maintain geospatial databases and services
Qualifications:
Required:
• Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Development, GIS, or related field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven experience with GIS software development
• Experience with version control systems (preferably Git)
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C++, or similar)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Demonstrated experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically: Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK), ESRI ArcGIS suite of commercial software developer components, ArcGIS Runtime, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS extensions including: 3-D Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Tracking Analyst, ArcGIS Server
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies
• Understanding of software security principles
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Must be able to work on-site at Stennis Space Center, MS
Preferred:
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
