As a Buyer, you'll be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery, and services that equip our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You'll collaborate across teams and showcase your organization and strategic planning skills to monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate with suppliers, and procure essential items that transform possibilities into realities for our customers and teams.
Applied Materials is seeking qualified professionals for direct employment with Applied Materials. The roles include various benefits and annual bonus (in addition to 13th month bonus).
Please note: the Buyer roles are in Heredia, Costa Rica (Central America) and do not provide relocation or work visa. The roles are 100% onsite. There is no option for hybrid or remote work.
Multiple Buyer Openings(Operational Buyer, NPI Buyer, Transactional Buyer, Purchasing Specialist):
Are you an experienced professional in the field of purchasing? Applied Materials, a leading global semiconductor equipment manufacturer, is excited to announce the opening of a new office in Heredia, Costa Rica. We are currently seeking talented individuals with a background in purchasing to join our dynamic team, on a direct hire (direct employment) basis.
As a member of our organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of our operations in Costa Rica. If you are interested in the semiconductor industry and possess the necessary expertise in purchasing, we invite you to explore this exciting career opportunity with Applied Materials.
We have multiple Buyer openings at various levels (starting at junior level up to senior level).
Proficiency in English (writing, speaking and reading) is required for all roles
Buyer I (junior level)
  • Ideal Candidates will have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain / Management / Business / Engineering or STEM. This is preferred but not required.
    • 1-3 years' experience in Purchasing (we will also consider less than one year of direct experience)
    • Proficiency in English (writing, speaking and reading) Required
    • SAP ERP system experience
    • MRP experience
    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Good analytic and problem-solving skills

Buyer II (intermediate level)
  • Ideal Candidates will have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain / Management / Business / Engineering or STEM. This is preferred but not required.
    • 3-5 years' experience in Purchasing
    • Proficiency in English (writing, speaking and reading) Required
    • SAP ERP system experience
    • MRP experience
    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Good analytic and problem-solving skills

Buyer III (advanced level)
  • Ideal Candidates will have:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain / Management / Business / Engineering or STEM. This is preferred but not required.
    • 6+ years' experience in Purchasing
    • Proficiency in English (writing, speaking and reading) Required
    • SAP ERP system experience
    • MRP experience
    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Nice-to-Have experience (at all levels):
    • APICS / CPM certification
    • Negotiating skills
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities
    • Ability maintaining positive work relationships with all work associates
    • Advanced understanding of engineering specifications and manufacturing processes
    • Service- oriented, experienced with suppliers and internal customers
    • Excellent Presentation skills
    • Project management experience
    • Problem solving ability
    • Interpersonal skills.
