Job description

Schedule: 20 hours/week to be split between Henry Ford Medical Center - Ford Road Dearborn & Detroit Pistons Performance Center
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Administers professional massage and body treatments to relieve pain, rehabilitate injuries, reduce stress, increase relaxation, and aid in general wellness based on established protocols; facilitates opportunities in which patients, colleagues and the community will learn about Integrative Medicine's unique program offerings
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Document patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards. Utilize electronic schedule effectively.
  • Accurately perform services as scheduled by the patient.
  • Effectively inform and educate patients about specific wellness concerns and contraindications.
  • Properly open and close each shift according to clinic standards.
  • Properly care for equipment and use cost effective amounts of product, and restock room as necessary.
  • Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of treatments, packages, services, treatment contraindications, facility features and hours of operation.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered and actively promote and cross refer to other Integrative Medicine services and special events.
  • Uphold infection control and safety standards
  • Respond to patient requests, complaints or inquiries professionally, courteously and promptly.
  • Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and independently complete assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and department staff meetings.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.)
  • Previous massage therapy experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
  • Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Massage Therapist.
  • Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)-Preferred
