Job description

Summary: SoCal Detox is a 12 bed inpatient facility located in Laguna Beach specializing in complex detoxification and medical stabilization. Detox Technicians are responsible for the shift-by-shift supervision of the client milieu, medication management, and attending to client's essential needs while on detoxification protocols.


Job Duties: 


1. Fifteen and thirty minute rounds and respiration checks per company and DHCS guidelines
2. Responsible to read shift log at beginning of shift and complete their own shift log and essential tasks contained therein by conclusion of shift.
3. Complete new admission intake procedures according to Program policies on all new admissions (UA, belongings searches, paperwork).

4. Accurate and thorough documentation of all medical assessments 
5. Direct observation of client medications in accordance with Medical Directors protocols 
6. Administering detoxification protocols (completion of CIWA, COWS forms, vital signs, rounds) on all detoxification clients.
7. Accurate completion and documentation of infection control rounds and environment of care audits per shift. 
8. Crisis Intervention
9. Proper documentation of medication chain of custody ie. new medications or medication changes
10. Filing, copies, other office duties as assigned.
11. Assist, coach and/or supervise clients with general household chores, cleanliness and food preparation clean up as required.
12. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:


1. 1 years experience at in inpatient setting be preferred. Current student for LVN or RN encouraged to apply

2. One year of experience in a human services setting; strong professional references attesting to high degree of passion, attention to detail,  and professionalism.

3. Ability to follow instructions clearly and precisely while experiencing multiple competing demands for employee time.

4. Current certification in First Aid/CPR.

5. Valid California Drivers License and good driving record.

6. Minimum of 2 years sobriety, if in recovery

7. Ability to take initiative, thinking critically, and have a high attention to detail 

8. ** Knowledge of detox medications, their uses, and detoxifications protocols.
