Job description

Job Summary:

The Foreman is expected to complete required supervisory training, orient, train, and develop subordinates through coaching, guidance, supervision, and completion of annual performance reviews. The Foreman oversees the staffing and scheduling of the facility to ensure the safe and timely production of product to meet customer needs, and corporate targets. Must be available to work an evening shift starting at 2pm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and respond to daily planning schedule orders and requests
  • Ensure labour is utilized in the most safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Assign and execute duties through effective communication
  • Produce daily briefs, reports and presentation as required.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of industrial safety, and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to supervisor
  • Reports upset conditions or other anomalies in manufacturing process to Production Manager
  • Keeps plant facility in a clean and safe condition
  • Makes daily inspection tours of plant, checking equipment for proper daily preventative maintenance, reporting any issues to Maintenance
  • Maintain production and attendance records.
  • Monitor the welfare and progress of employees maintaining and enforce safe work practices.
  • Coach, mentor, and help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant Trade Certification or Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in manufacturing management preferred.
  • A Diploma Certificate in a technical field is desirable

  • Participate and/or lead in near miss / incident reporting/incident investigations

This position is classified as safety sensitive, and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment testing.
