Job description

CORE RESPONSIBILITES (can include but are not limited to):

· Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.

· Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears.

· Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.

· Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.

· Routinely cleaning work areas.

· Recommending suitable products to pet owners.

· Answering any questions clients may have with a friendly attitude.

· Keep the receptionist informed about pets that are ready for pick-up.

· Supports Mission, Vision and Values of Destination Pet

REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise & Experience:

· Professional grooming experience is required

· Displays a professional manner at all times.

· The ability to work under pressure while still following proper procedure.

· Time management skills, patience, and a positive attitude

· Ability to operate a phone, computer and learn facility software.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Familiarity with animal behavior, body posture and hair textures.

· Must be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family!

Physical:

· Bathing requires sitting, standing, walking, and lifting more than 50 lbs.

· Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal hair/fecal matter, hot/cold temperatures and getting wet.

PAY: YOU can CHOOSE

Start at an hourly wage for 60 days before changing to the commission terms listed below

OR

Hire on at 50% commission (or 40% commission if you are working with a bather thus allowing you to groom more dogs)

30% on basic baths if applicable
