Job Description

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Thermal Engineer Analyst will support Space Systems. Projects will include the Launch Vehicle Stage Adapter (LVSA), and other launch/landing or research systems. The Thermal Engineer Analyst will work in cooperation with the Project Lead Engineers to provide analyses for space-flight vehicles, systems, and components. The Thermal Engineer Analyst will document results of analyses and publish reports and may support Working Groups at NASA MSFC.

Job Requirements

  • BS Degree in an engineering/technical discipline is required
  • 5 yrs experience thermal systems analysis
  • Experience required in performing thermal analysis for hardware in extreme environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Office, PowerPoint, and Word

Preferred Capabilities/Experience

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics experience to model fluid flow internal to a structure is a plus
  • Thermal Desktop or Sinda Fluent experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NASA and spaceflight hardware a plus

Other Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
