Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) — School Setting

The Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) provides specialized instruction and learning experiences that support the social, intellectual, and emotional development of students with visual impairments. This educator designs, implements, and adapts instructional programs to help students build essential skills and function successfully in academic and daily environments.

?? Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized and group instruction to visually impaired students

  • Develop and implement instructional programs tailored to student needs

  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth

  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

  • Document services and student progress as required
