Role Description The Cake Decorator at The Grand Bakery is a part-time, on-site role based in Dadeville, AL. This role involves decorating cakes and other baked goods according to customer requests, seasonal themes, and bakery standards, including crumb coating, piping, and custom designs. Day-to-day tasks include preparing frostings and fillings, assisting with baking and product setup, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and ensuring all items meet quality and presentation expectations. The Cake Decorator will interact with customers to clarify design details, provide product recommendations, and support a positive in-store experience. Collaboration with other bakery staff to meet order deadlines and support daily production is also an important part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a bakery environment with skills in Baking and general Bakery operations.
• Proficiency in Cake Decorating techniques, including icing, piping, and design work.
• Ability to prepare and decorate Cookies and other small baked items with consistent quality.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with guests.
• Attention to detail, good time management, and ability to follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and lift bakery supplies as needed.
• Prior experience in a commercial bakery or food service setting is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to work flexible part-time hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
