Launch your design career with hands-on experience that makes an impact.
At Goodmans, design is about more than creating spaces-it's about improving how people work, collaborate, and thrive. As a Design Intern, you'll gain real-world experience supporting our Design team while building the technical and creative foundation needed to grow into a Designer or Design Librarian role.
If you're eager to learn, detail-oriented, and excited about the design process, this is your opportunity to grow with a team that invests in your development.
What You'll Do
You'll support the design process from concept to execution while learning industry tools, systems, and best practices.
  • Assist with specifications, drawings, and project documentation
  • Support designers with day-to-day project tasks and deliverables
  • Research furniture products, finishes, materials, and vendor offerings
  • Prepare client presentations and supporting materials
  • Learn and utilize design software including AutoCAD, Project Matrix, and CET Designer
  • Apply company drawing standards and file naming conventions
  • Track design time and maintain organized project documentation
  • Participate in dealer and manufacturer training programs

Design Library & Materials Experience
Working alongside the Design Librarian, you'll gain hands-on experience managing materials and supporting client selections.
  • Pull and prepare finish samples for client meetings and presentations
  • Assemble, organize, and label sample packages for finish selection meetings
  • Maintain and organize sample libraries and ensure materials are stocked and current
  • Assist with MillerKnoll sample walls and displays
  • Coordinate sample orders and deliveries for clients and project teams
  • Return and organize materials after project use
  • Research finish options and verify product availability
  • Support updates to vendor lists, finish libraries, and design resources
  • Help introduce new materials, finishes, and product offerings to the team

Why This Role Matters
This role builds the foundation of your design career. You'll gain exposure to the full design process, develop technical skills, and support meaningful client work-while helping ensure projects run smoothly and materials are accurate, organized, and accessible.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and willingness to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and positive, professional attitude
  • Interest in furniture, finishes, and the built environment

Preferred but not required:
