Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for an Associate Director, Pathways Strategy for our Hematologic department located in Horsham, PA. This is an office / hybrid position with three days a week onsite requirement in the Horsham, Pennsylvania office. This role will drive the development, execution, and optimization of pathway strategies, leveraging deep expertise in hematology to deliver organizational impact and advance patient outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Vision
  • Establish clear and challenging goals that accomplish business objectives consistent with the organization.
  • Implementation and continuous improvement of hematologic pathway strategies, ensuring alignment with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and evolving market trends.
  • Design strategy to gain and retain pathway access, collaborating with leadership to define priorities and measure impact.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor for pathway initiatives, representing the department in cross-functional and external forums.
  • Align and deliver pathway submission strategies for each brand. Track and measure effectiveness of each submission. Provide analysis for continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Team Engagement
  • Leverage matrixed leadership to deliver impact through cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, compliance, regulatory, clinical operations, scientific affairs, and other relevant teams.
  • Drive collaborative execution of pathway strategies, ensuring integration with broader organizational goals and resource optimization.
  • Sustain high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of complex data sets from clinical studies, health outcomes research, and market intelligence to support pathway strategy.
  • Translate insights into actionable strategies, guiding decision-making at the executive level.
  • Ensure robust measurement and reporting of pathway performance and impact.
  • Provide market scanning to identify and map key pathway population health decision makers across relevant groups as well as track current product placement vs goal, in collaboration with other functions as applicable.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Cultivate relationships with key internal stakeholders in medical, commercial, and Scientific Affairs to ensure pathway strategy is embedded within their scope.
  • Serve as JNJ subject matter expert for oncology pathways and pathway strategy is fully integrated into the JNJ matrix teams.
  • Collaborate and communicate with brand access and Medical Affairs organizations to integrate medical pathway perspectives into the commercialization process and ensure appropriate alignment between commercial and medical on pathway strategy priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or healthcare discipline is required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred.
  • Extensive experience in hematology, oncology, or related therapeutic areas, with a proven track record in strategy leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation preferred.
  • Ability to drive innovation and deliver measurable organizational impact.
  • Demonstrated history of learning agility and depth and breadth of pharma experience.
