Job description

Location: Warsaw, IN
Pay Rate: $33/hr
Duration: 7 months
Schedule: Full-time, onsite


About the Role:
Zimmer Biomet is looking for an entry-level Quality Engineer I to help ensure products conform to established quality requirements and standards through audits, inspections, and testing. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external experts to support quality goals and product/process improvements.

The ideal candidate has an engineering background, strong analytical and communication skills, and foundational knowledge of quality engineering concepts within a manufacturing or medical device environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain procedures, specifications, and standards for products and processes
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans
  • Collect and analyze data for gauge and product evaluations
  • Identify personnel, gauges, procedures, and materials needed for new product development
  • Work with suppliers to ensure they have the information and resources necessary to deliver quality products
  • Support audits, inspections, and testing activities to verify product conformity
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, regulatory teams, and other stakeholders
  • Support product testing and quality improvement initiatives
  • Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and requirements


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another Bachelor’s degree with a Quality Engineer certification such as CQE
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Basic understanding of QSR/ISO regulations
  • Knowledge of design assurance, FMEA, and product testing methods
  • Familiarity with optical comparators and CMMs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is preferred
  • Medical device, particularly orthopedic industry, experience is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
