Position Overview: 


The Sales & Design Professional (SDP) at Pref-Tech will develop business opportunities, oversee the design-estimation process, and win profitable contracts that fit within the company’s skill sets and roadmap.

Required Qualifications:


  • Must have experience in the Security Integration Industry
  • At least 3 years in Outside Sales
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent/Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in creating estimates, proposals, and designs
  • Strong client facing experience
  • Experience in executive level selling
  • Experience in owning accounts
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively



    Key Responsibilities:


    • Develop, Identify and Cultivate sales opportunities with strategic clients for Structured Cabling Systems, Electronic Security Systems, A/V Systems and Perimeter Intrusion Systems.
    • Maintain and grow end user sales activity and potential business.
    • Achieve revenue and margin objectives.
    • Generate leads from speaking engagements, tradeshows, networking, and personal selling.
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships.
    • Develop customer needs via consultative selling.
    • Prepare strategic plans regarding daily activities, lead generation, customer contact and structure of calls and appointment and follow-up.
    • Prepare presentations and sales contracts.
    • Prepare proposals with detailed scope of work.
    • Facilitate bidding process with estimation/sales team using MS Outlook.
    • Engage directly and proactively with Design/Estimation and Operations teams to decisively shape and drive the direction of our product and service offerings.
    • Attend pre-bids, walk, and review jobsites.
    • Prepare and Coordinate Project Hand-Over Meetings with Operations.
    • Develop professionally (Classes, Certifications, Reading, and Training).
      • You will be required to attend 2 training events a year.
    • Make face-to-face presentations.
    • Identify and resolve client concerns.
    • Knowledge and experience in design of Pref-Tech products and services.
    • In-depth knowledge of products and services that Pref-Tech offers.
    • In-depth knowledge of a rapidly changing market that comprises the products and services that Pref-Tech offers.
    • Self-starter with a positive outlook and a high level of enthusiasm.
    • Unwavering drive to develop and increase revenues.
    • Excellent presentation (development and delivery), verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Accurately and consistently input data and generate reports for future, current, and closed accounts in the CRM system.
    • Fully commit to company sales directives and actively participate in internal team exercises to enhance both personal and team growth in business performance

    Work Hours: 

    Hybrid role. Standard workdays and times are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. About 60% of the SDP work can be done remotely.  The remaining 40% will include in-person activities such as meetings, networking events, etc.  Some travel will be required.
