Job description

JOB SUMMARY
This position identifies and eliminates waste in manufacturing processes. They ensure safety factors and standards are followed, per law and company policy.
Responsibilities include:
  • Analyzing engineering design documents and make recommendations concerning required methods, processes, tools, fixtures, etc which are required to fabricate the products
  • Attending all design review meetings to provide guidance to engineering regarding DSM (Design for Manufacturability)
  • Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling
  • Leading the evaluation of Armor manufacturing processes implementing improved safety, quality and reduced cost solutions
  • Designs sequences of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of components and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Creating standard operating procedures for the manufacturing floor
  • Developing manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control
  • Inspecting performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigating and initiating corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure safety and quality
  • Working closely with Quality team to incorporate inspection and/or test requirements into the production area
  • Implementing cost improvement programs and developing metrics for tracking
  • Leading investigations to identify root cause and implementation of corrective action of repetitive production scrap and quality issues
  • Conducting audits in order to sustain improvements and/or identify lack of adherence
  • Establishing methods to maximize utilization of production equipment and facilities
  • Lead continuous improvement events, such as Kaizen events
  • Additional items as assigned by manager

This position will be in an indoor environment, general office, manufacturing floor and this includes large amount of sitting, standing, and walking.
