A growing engineering and manufacturing company is looking for a Design Engineer to join their Houston engineering team.

The company designs and manufactures highly engineered components and systems used across demanding industrial applications. This is an opportunity for a mechanical design engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working closely with manufacturing teams, and developing customer-specific solutions.


The Role

The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation for complex engineered products.

Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, CNC Programming, Sales, and Customer Service teams, you will help transform customer requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
  • Design complex mechanical components, assemblies, and engineered solutions.
  • Review customer requirements and translate them into technical designs.
  • Perform dimensional analysis, tolerance reviews, and fit/function evaluations.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Support manufacturing teams with design improvements and technical problem solving.
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
  • Assist with reverse engineering of existing components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with production and CNC programming teams to ensure successful manufacture.
  • Review engineering documentation for accuracy and quality.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for a mechanical design engineer who enjoys working with technically challenging products and can apply strong engineering principles to complex applications.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 1+ years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Experience creating detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
