Commercial Applications Development Lead Job Description

Base Salary Rate: $126,321 to $148,613

Job type: Full-time

About This Role

This role owns the development, stability, and evolution of commercial applications, with initial focus on MyEddie. It builds on the current-state developer role by adding team leadership, delivery accountability, and platform direction. Responsible for ensuring continuity of existing systems while driving modernization, reducing key-person dependency, and aligning platform development with global commercial strategy.

Platform Ownership & Delivery
  • Own end-to-end development and support for MyEddie and related commercial applications
  • Ensure platform stability, performance, and ongoing enhancement delivery
  • Establish release management, development standards, and quality controls
  • Build and lead a team of developers (internal + COE/vendor)
  • Set priorities, assign work, and manage delivery outcomes
  • Drive onboarding, knowledge transfer, and capability development
  • Lead transition from legacy architecture to future-state platform
  • Identify technical debt, risks, and gaps; define remediation roadmap
  • Partner with enterprise architecture on integration and platform design
Integration & Ecosystem Alignment
  • Oversee integrations across Salesforce, ERP, data platforms, and customer tools
  • Ensure systems align to a single agreed data model and process flows
  • Support end-to-end commercial workflows across platforms
Operational Continuity
  • Ensure documentation, system knowledge, and support coverage are in place
  • Reduce reliance on single contributors and improve resiliency
  • Own incident management and ongoing support model
Stakeholder Alignment
  • Partner with business, IT, and global teams to prioritize work
  • Translate business needs into technical delivery plans
  • Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and decisions
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years of experience in application development (full stack preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong backend experience (APIs, integrations, databases, system design)
  • Experience leading development teams or pods
  • Experience working with global delivery / COE models
  • Ability to manage both legacy systems and modernization efforts
  • Stable, well-supported commercial platforms with reduced single-point risk
  • Clear development roadmap aligned to business priorities
  • Improved speed and quality of delivery across applications
  • Successful transition from legacy systems to modern architecture
  • Strong development team with scalable delivery model
Compensation and Benefits

The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
