Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IoT Architect to design and deliver end-to-end IoT solutions spanning edge devices, gateways, connectivity, cloud platforms, applications, integration, analytics, and security. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across IoT, cloud and edge computing, Industry 4.0, Kubernetes on the edge, Azure, service-oriented architectures, and IoT communication protocols. The role will also establish architecture and development best practices while providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop end-to-end IoT solution architectures spanning devices, gateways, connectivity, cloud, applications, integration, analytics, and security layers.
• Define solutions addressing both functional and non-functional requirements, including scalability, availability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Deliver cloud and edge solutions for Industry 4.0 and IoT environments.
• Design and implement IoT edge architectures, including Kubernetes-based edge platforms.
• Design and integrate device edge gateways, Industrial MCUs, sensors, and devices with cloud-based IoT platforms.
• Lead real-time implementation of driver configuration and integration.
• Design and implement connectivity solutions using IoT and network protocols such as MQTT, REST, AMQP, HTTPS, WebSocket, Modbus, OAM-DM, OPC/UA, Zigbee, LoRa, BLE, and NB-IoT.
• Implement and support IoT solutions using Azure and other cloud or IoT platforms.
• Design and implement Edge High Availability (HA), Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery capabilities.
• Establish architecture, design, development, and DevOps best practices across IoT solutions.
• Define and implement end-to-end security controls across edge, application, transport, network, cloud, and infrastructure layers.
• Ensure data privacy and data protection requirements are incorporated into IoT architectures.
• Guide and mentor development teams on architecture, design, development, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, cloud, DevOps, security, and business teams to deliver scalable IoT solutions.
• Support containerized and microservices-based solutions using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain IoT applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud services.
• Evaluate IoT gateway products, agents, sensors, devices, and emerging technologies for enterprise use.
• Drive continuous improvement across IoT, cloud, edge, DevOps, and AI/ML/analytics capabilities.
• Work with Linux-based operating systems and support edge and cloud environments.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of overall experience delivering cloud and edge projects, including Industry 4.0 experience.
• 4+ years of experience in IoT and service-oriented architectures.
• 5+ years of development experience with .NET, C, and/or Java.
• Hands-on experience with IoT edge technologies, specifically Kubernetes on the edge.
• Experience with device edge gateways, Industrial MCUs, and connectivity to cloud IoT platforms.
• Mandatory hands-on implementation experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with cloud or IoT platforms such as AWS, PTC ThingWorx, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong knowledge of IoT and network communication protocols, including MQTT, REST, AMQP, HTTPS, WebSocket, Modbus, OAM-DM, OPC/UA, Zigbee, LoRa, BLE, and NB-IoT.
• Experience implementing Edge HA, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, web protocols, and Grafana.
• Strong programming experience with Python and C# and/or Java.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end IoT security across edge, application, transport, network, cloud, and infrastructure layers.
• Knowledge of data privacy and data protection controls.
• Knowledge of IoT gateways, agents, sensors, and connected devices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps processes and tools.
• Experience working with Linux-based operating systems.
• Strong architecture, design, development, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor development teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with PTC ThingWorx or other enterprise IoT platforms.
• Experience with AWS IoT and cloud services.
• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Experience with multi-tenancy architectures.
• Experience with AI/ML and analytics solutions in IoT environments.
• Strong interest and experience in IoT, cloud technologies, DevOps, and Industry 4.0 solutions.
