Mechanical Engineer – Building Consulting (Waterloo, ON)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join a well-established building engineering consulting firm based in KWG Area. This firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical design solutions across sectors such as commercial, recreational, and institutional facilities.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, mentorship-oriented environment, with the chance to contribute to a variety of exciting building projects while continuing to grow technically and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a wide range of building projects.

  • Prepare design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.

  • Develop detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure coordinated and efficient design solutions.

  • Participate in site reviews, field inspections, and construction administration.

  • Manage project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.

  • Support mentorship and knowledge sharing within the mechanical team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • P.Eng. designation or eligibility for licensure in Ontario preferred.

  • 8+ years of mechanical design experience within the building consulting industry.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
