Job description

Position: Design Assurance Engineer – Design Verification Focus

Location: TX

Duration: 6+ Months with possibility of extension

Hours per week: 40

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Design Verification Engineer to support design assurance and verification documentation across multiple hardware programs, including an active battery project and an upcoming tablet qualification effort. This is a documentation-driven role, not a hands-on R&D product development position. The consultant will own verification protocols, characterization reports, and technical review of documentation from draft through approval, working through EDMS routing and cross-functional approval cycles. The team sits within a hardware group that also touches MRI-related work, electrical safety, EMI/EMC, and thermal compliance testing, so this person will support multiple concurrent workstreams. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a paperwork-heavy environment, and able to catch technical gaps or inconsistencies during document review rather than just processing paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own design verification protocols, reports, and characterization documentation from draft through approval
  • Conduct technical review of protocols, reports, and traceability to catch gaps or inconsistencies before approval
  • Route and manage documentation through EDMS across multiple concurrent projects
  • Coordinate document reviews and approval cycles across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Document Control
  • Support software validation documentation, including protocol and report work, where applicable

Must Have Skills

  • 3 - 5+ years of relevant medical device design verification or design assurance experience
  • Strong technical review skills for protocols, reports, and documentation, not just execution
  • Technical background (Biomedical, Electrical, or broad Mechanical) sufficient to evaluate whether documentation is technically sound

Bonus / Nice to Have

  • IQVIA/SmartSolve experience, software validation/verification exposure, GSPR checklist or ERC experience, or background in electrical safety, EMI/EMC, MRI, or thermal testing.
