The Fitness Manager leads the Personal Training department. This person is responsible for growing the PT
business, developing trainers, creating a strong member experience, and making sure the team is hitting its goals.

What We Are Looking For

A proven ability to build and grow a Personal Training business.
Experience with floor pulls, front desk pulls, consultations, follow-up, and closing sales.
Experience hiring, coaching, and developing Personal Trainers.
A manager who knows the numbers, sets clear goals, follows the playbook, and holds the team accountable.
Sales and leadership experience in a fitness, service, or performance-driven environment.
A track record of meeting or beating sales goals.
Someone who can stay positive, adapt quickly, and lead well in a fast-paced club.
Main Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of qualified Personal Trainers.
Keep the fitness team engaged, productive, and aligned with company standards.
Run regular one-on-one and team meetings to review performance, goals, wins, and areas to improve.
Coach trainers on sales conversations, client service, programming, and member follow-up.
Create growth opportunities for trainers when performance supports it.
Manage trainer schedules, floor hours, and non-session hours within approved budgets.
Address performance issues and employee relations matters with support from the General Manager or direct
supervisor.
Fitness Department Management
Make sure members have access to a professional, knowledgeable, and energetic training team.
Ensure trainers are delivering high-quality programs that support client goals and retention.
Train staff on Crunch systems, standards, programs, and current fitness trends.
Oversee accurate use of tools and systems such as VFP, ABC/Datatrak, Crunch U, Enhance, Styku, Club
Connect, and trainer scheduling.
Confirm Personal Training services are documented correctly, including assessments, measurements,
programming, progress checks, and client notes.
Support member questions or concerns related to fitness services.
Ensure staff follows Time & Labor guidelines and manage overtime according to company policy.
Keep trainer certifications current and uploaded as required.
Sales and Service
Drive Personal Training revenue through consultations, promotions, retention, and consistent member
outreach.
Sell directly and lead by example on the floor and at the front desk.
Coach trainers through role play, observation, and feedback so they can improve their sales process.
Manage schedules and resources based on the club's KPIs and daily needs.
Help reduce attrition by making sure the Client Journey is followed, especially during the first 90 days.
Communicate business results, takeaways, and action plans to the General Manager.
Execute monthly marketing initiatives and create new business by engaging members off the floor.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong knowledge of Personal Training techniques, program design, anatomy, functional exercise, basic
nutrition, and exercise science.
Ability to conduct Fitness Assessments according to company protocol.
Strong sales, communication, rapport-building, and leadership skills.
Experience coaching and motivating individuals and groups.
Ability to adjust and operate club equipment safely.
Friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and positive attitude.
Strong member-service focus with the ability to respond professionally to guests, members, and staff.
Ability to design exercise programs that fit each client's needs.
Commitment to personal integrity, personal health, continuing education, and professional growth.

Qualifications
Current CPR/AED certification and basic First Aid knowledge.
Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification or a four-year related degree such as Exercise
Science, Sports Medicine, Physical Education, Nutrition, or a similar field.
Previous Personal Training management experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to lift heavy weights, squat, bend, reach, spot members, and stand or walk for extended periods.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
