Site Safety and Health Specialist

We are currently seeking a Site Safety and Health Specialist to support our SLDA Project site in Parks Township, PA.
The Site Safety and Health / Training Specialist:
  • Integrates with project team at the job site to monitor and oversee task level site HSE requirements during the execution of field work. Work will include site remediation, facility operations and maintenance, and finally demobilization.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for on site training needs including coordination of routine training cycles for new personnel and refresher training for existing personnel.
  • Maintain training records as required for the site training program. This includes the use of spreadsheets, database and a variety of supporting documents.
  • Support collection of worker exposure monitoring data using direct reading and integrated sampling techniques. Document measurements as required.
  • Interface, integrate and align with the SLDA Project Team including the Site Manager, Project Manager, Site Safety and Health Officer, and Health and Safety Manager.
  • Serve as a visible and credible ambassador for developing a positive safety culture.
  • To be an exemplary HSE professional demonstrating commitment to continued self-improvement, and professional development.

Qualifications - External
  • 3- 5 years of applied HSE experience in the following areas: construction, environmental remediation, operations and maintenance, hazardous waste management.
  • Physically able to wear respiratory protection and chemical protective clothing while performing duties, which may include physically challenging terrain and environmental conditions.
  • USA citizenship is required, ability to pass security screening for a secret clearance. Able to obtain interim clearance within 90 days of start date.
  • Able to influence and guide those over whom you do not have direct control
  • Demonstrates a passion and commitment to the HSE profession
  • Exhibits a high level of attention to detail.
  • Facilitates engagement - creating an HSE culture where people are motivated to their best to help organization achieve its HSE goals.
  • Experience supporting incident investigation.
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite & other related software applications required.
  • Must demonstrate a stable job history and have been in your current organization for at least one year or more
  • Very competent communicator both written, verbal and in presentations

  • Candidates must already reside near the Pittsburgh, PA area and be comfortable with their commute to the worksite.

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of equipment, supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 150 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. Regular use of chemical protective clothing including respiratory protection.

Compensation Details:
$65,000 - $90,000
