Job description

Willow Dermatology is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, assist with dermatologic procedures, administer treatments, educate patients, and support exceptional clinical outcomes in a fast-paced outpatient dermatology setting.

Compensation rate range: $37-45/hr [depending on experience]

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments, review and reconcile medications and allergies, and obtain health histories. Subsequently document findings in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Prepare patients for dermatologic examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Assist physicians and providers during dermatology procedures, including biopsies, excisions, Mohs procedures, cryosurgery, intra-lesional chemotherapy, and other office-based treatments.
  • Complete nurse visits for wound care, wound assessment, Mohs follow-up, and other patient care related visits.
  • Administer medications, injections, and therapies in accordance with provider orders.
  • Assist with narrow band UVB and photodynamic therapy visits.
  • Assist with intralesional chemotherapeutic agent scheduling, preparation, and administration.
  • Assist with insurance appeals and prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records that are in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Maintain and sterilize clinical instruments, equipment, medical exam gowns, and treatment areas.
  • Collect, label, process, and prepare laboratory/pathology specimens.
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date log of pathology specimens.
  • Communicate pathology results and clinical plan to patients based on physician instructions.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medication use, skin health, and follow-up instructions, as directed by the physician.
  • Support infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Active Arizona RN license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Dermatology experience preferred but not required.
  • Six (6) months of nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience utilizing EHR and clinical documentation systems preferred.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
