Job description

School Partnership Outpatient Therapist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, which address the needs of the client within the context of the individual's home and community.
  • Build relationships with middle school staff and become a part of the student support team at each school you are serving.
  • Develop initial psychosocial assessments, diagnosis formulation, crisis plans, and treatment plans.
  • Develop cooperative and collaborative working relationships with off- site agency staff and potential referral sources.
  • Write treatment notes, managed care documentation, reports, and summaries, as necessary.
  • Take the lead on managing groups such that non-licensed staff and interns adhere to protocol.
  • Attend Ryther & school building staff meetings as required and appropriate.
  • Provide 24-hour crisis services to clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Counselor with the Washington State Department of Health (DOH). Full licensure in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy is preferred.
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Must provide own transportation and have ability to navigate transportation to 5 local area middle schools.
  • Acceptance and ability to work with individuals and families with a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, cultural and spiritual practices with the ability to apply a social justice and equity lens to all aspects of this work.

This position provides school based comprehensive and culturally responsive mental health services for youth and their families, primarily in a school setting, utilizing experiential-based treatment. You'll provide crisis intervention and case management services to caseload clients and families. This position will serve a local school district 4 days per week and serve Ryther's outpatient mental health program one day per week. Depending on your experience your salary would be $58,600-$72,060 (with an increase for language skills, and having an SUDP/T).
