Job description

Derivatives Operations Specialist | Boston | Onsite 

A leading Boston-based alternative investment firm is seeking a Senior Derivatives Operations Specialist to join its Back Office Operations team. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced operations professional with derivatives experience to take on a key role supporting the firmโ€™s derivative reconciliations, settlements, cash flows, and daily margin processes.
Compensation: $95,000-105,000 + bonus 
Schedule: Onsite 5 days/week 

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Own daily reconciliations for derivative securities
  • Process and reconcile derivative principal and interest payments
  • Investigate and resolve derivative breaks and discrepancies with counterparties, banks, administrators, and internal teams
  • Prepare, project, and analyze daily derivative margin calls
  • Support post-trade derivative settlements and related operational processes
  • Develop a strong understanding of the firmโ€™s trading strategies, derivative activity, and associated cash flows
  • Assist with monthly shareholder statement reviews and other operational projects

What Weโ€™re Looking For:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3โ€“5 years of relevant operations & Derivatives experience
  • Hands-on experience with derivatives operations is required
  • Strong knowledge of post-trade derivative settlements
  • Experience with fund accounting, reconciliations, custody, or investment operations
  • Understanding of accounting controls within the investment management industry
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
