What does a derivatives analyst do?

A Derivatives Analyst is a finance professional who specializes in the analysis, valuation, and risk assessment of derivative instruments, such as options, futures, swaps, and other financial contracts whose value is derived from underlying assets. They work with traders, portfolio managers, and risk management teams to evaluate market trends, develop pricing models, and monitor the performance of derivative positions. Their goal is to help organizations manage financial risk and optimize investment strategies involving derivatives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a derivatives analyst, and why are they important?
