Job description

Logistician- Senior (contingent 045) - This is contingent upon award.
The Logistics Management Specialist provides Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and System Lifecycle Support for BCC systems within the Department of War (DoW) environment. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing logistics activities throughout the lifecycle of biometric hardware and software systems, ensuring operational readiness, accountability, sustainment, and disposition in support of mission requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, initiate, integrate, and manage all logistics actions associated with the lifecycle management of BCC systems.
  • Plan and coordinate supply support, technical logistics data, packaging, handling, storage, and transportation activities.
  • Coordinate with purchasing agents, field technicians, engineers, and government stakeholders to ensure the effective deployment, sustainment, and operation of biometric collection devices.
  • Manage fielding support services, including acquisition, inventory control, delivery, installation, and property book accountability.
  • Perform audits of assets and maintain accurate inventory records for government-furnished and contractor-acquired property.
  • Utilize logistics and inventory management systems, including PIEE GFP Module and DPAS, to track assets and maintain accountability.
  • Maintain databases for equipment inventories, utilization statistics, lifecycle status, and other critical records supporting program metrics and reporting requirements.
  • Research system and component availability for initial procurement, replacement materials, equipment, and repair parts using established government and commercial supply systems.
  • Manage the shipment, tracking, and accountability of equipment to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Support the sustainment, refresh, and retirement (sunsetting) of hardware and software systems throughout their lifecycle.
  • Provide logistics support for training events, including on-site and remote instruction and New Equipment Training (NET).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, property accountability requirements, and logistics management policies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Integrated Logistics Support and System Lifecycle Support within a DoW environment.
  • Knowledge of supply support planning, technical logistics data management, packaging, handling, storage, and transportation processes.
  • Proficiency with PIEE GFP Module, DPAS, and other logistics and inventory management systems.
  • Experience managing hardware and software sustainment, replacement, and retirement activities.
  • Experience conducting property audits, inventory management, asset accountability, and logistics reporting.
  • Knowledge of government property management and lifecycle logistics principles.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics activities across multiple functional teams and stakeholder organizations.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience within the DoW Biometrics community or with Interagency Biometrics stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting biometric collection devices or other mission-critical government systems.
  • Familiarity with CONUS and OCONUS deployment logistics and transportation requirements.
  • Experience supporting fielding, training, and sustainment operations for government programs.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Three (3) additional years of relevant experience.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience in logistics.
  • Secret security clearance required.
