HVAC Technician
Expected Pay Rate: $25 - $28 per hour
A Veteran owned full-service national security operation, Deployed Global Solutions LLC (DGS) delivers low visibility, intelligent, agile, resilient, and secure turnkey mission solutions that are tailored to meet the global needs of our customers. At DGS, we are one team, working together to develop mission solutions - anywhere, anytime.
The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs HVAC systems and equipment in manufactured products and for construction supply. The HVAC Technician completes assigned tasks in accordance with industry standards, work instructions, technical specifications, and company procedures while maintaining quality, safety, and operational standards. When needed, the HVAC Technician performs other trade tasks to support company projects.
Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Review blueprints, work instructions, design specifications, and installation instructions to determine project requirements.
  • Install, inspect, maintain, modify, and repair HVAC systems and equipment including but not limited to, refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers and forced air converter units.
  • Install electrical components, controls, motors, and wiring for HVAC systems.
  • Test and diagnose HVAC systems and equipment to verify proper operation and performance.
  • Perform repairs and component replacements as needed to restore system functionality.
  • Perform maintenance on HVAC equipment, including the inspection and replacement of filters, belts, thermostats, and other system components.
  • Assist with other day-to-day production activities in other trade areas.

Skills and Specifications
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations pertaining to HVAC.
  • Knowledge of materials and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC systems.
  • Ability to calibrate HVAC
  • Ability to read and interpret owner's manuals, equipment schematics and work orders.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow direction, collaborate effectively, and contribute to team objectives.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require the supervision of direct reports.
Work Environment
This position operates in professional office, workshop, production facility, and field environments which include working near moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet or humid conditions, and extreme cold and heat, using tools of the trade and other equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. may occur.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, on-site, hourly position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, weekends and extended hours as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on business needs.
DGS will pay a one-time, completely discretionary relocation incentive of $5,000.00 for a qualified applicant to relocate to Rome, NY for daily work at the DGS location there. The incentive will be payable once a qualified and selected candidate provides evidence of relocation and is contingent (vests) upon satisfactory completion of one year of misconduct-free employment, otherwise repayment of the incentive is required. Any offer of employment to a candidate not located in the Rome, NY area is contingent upon relocation to the vicinity of Rome, NY.
Travel
Occasional travel will be required.
Required Education and Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years' experience as an HVAC technician.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
  • Must be able to travel with the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
