The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at aminimum of three (3) daysonsiteand up to five(5)days on siteduring probationary period. This position may berequiredtoparticipatein community outreach events and/or work in alternate city locations dependent on the business need. When working at alternate city locations, you maybe requiredto become certified to collect a buccal swab for genetic testing.This certification is paid for by the city. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The Economic Security Division iscomprisedof the following program areas: Colorado Works Workforce Development, SNAP to Success (Denver's name for Employment First), Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) and Child Support Services (CSS).
TheEconomic Security Divisionis currently seeking highly skilled applicants for the position of Establishment Child Support TechnicianI. Child Support Services (CSS) partners with federal, state, tribal, and local governments, and others to promote parental responsibility so that children receive support from both parents, even when they live in separate households. Nationally, the child support program is one of the largest income-support programs for families, contributing money to family budgets to help pay for the basics: shelter, food, childcare, transportation, and school clothes. Child support makesa big differenceto children. We strive to provide family centered services and are incorporating innovative strategies that improve the reliability of child support payments.
CSS Vision: The vision of Child Support Services is to help build a world where children can count on their parents for the support and love that they need to be healthy and successful.CSS will put children first by both parents assuming responsibility for the economic and social well-being,healthand stability of their children. We recognize that childrenbenefitfrom positive, ongoing relationships with both parents.
The Establishment Child Support TechnicianI:
- Send court filings out for service of process andmonitorthe outcome of service
- Respond to a variety of questions, explain policies, procedures, and processes, and provide child support related information to various stakeholders
- Enter andmaintainclient records in various databases
- Participate in community outreach events and/or work in alternate city locations dependent on the business need
- Receives and reviews referrals from a variety of sources anddeterminesthe nextappropriate stepsneeded toachieveestablishment of Child Support orders
- Prepares andcomposesdocumentsfor service ofprocess forour Child Supportcases
- Gatherinformation and documentation, and answer questions related to the child support process
- Performs research and investigative work to collect necessary information and documentation not provided in the intake interviews
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

RequiredMinimum Qualifications
- Education:Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED,HiSETor TASC Certificate
- Experience:Four (4) years of experience performing office support work.
