Dental Laboratory Manager | Senior Denture & Implant Technician
Lead a High-Performing Dental Laboratory Team
We are seeking an experienced Dental Laboratory Manager to provide both technical leadership and day-to-day supervisory support for our on-site dental laboratory. This is a hands-on leadership position for an accomplished Dental Lab Technician, Denture Technician, or Senior Dental Laboratory Technician with extensive experience in removable prosthetics and advanced dental laboratory techniques.
The Dental Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the training and development of laboratory technicians, implementation of new products and technologies, laboratory quality standards, and collaboration with clinical and laboratory leadership. The ideal candidate combines advanced technical expertise with strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
This role requires sound judgment and the ability to collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer and practice team to determine the appropriate laboratory approach on a patient-by-patient basis.
Job Summary
The Dental Laboratory Manager oversees technical laboratory operations while remaining actively involved in complex denture and implant-supported restorative cases.
The Manager will:
  • Lead and develop on-site dental laboratory technicians.
  • Provide hands-on technical training and mentorship.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, accuracy, and case turnaround.
  • Support the implementation of new dental laboratory products, technologies, and techniques.
  • Communicate regularly with the Regional Manager of Laboratory Excellence and other relevant leadership.
  • Participate actively in the ACI Laboratory Network.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to support high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Apply sound technical judgment while following established laboratory procedures and best practices.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Advanced Dental Laboratory Expertise
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of full and partial denture fabrication.
  • Set denture teeth and perform advanced denture wax-ups, including festooning and carving of teeth.
  • Perform rough and fine finishing of dentures.
  • Complete denture repairs and other removable prosthetic procedures.
  • Pour and trim denture models.
  • Fabricate and support complete dentures, overdentures, and implant-based restorations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in full-arch hybrid restorations.
  • Apply strong knowledge of dental science, anatomy, occlusion, and dental esthetics to laboratory cases.
  • Support advanced and complex restorative cases as needed.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide on-site technical training, coaching, and development for laboratory technicians.
  • Assess technician skills and identify opportunities for additional training and development.
  • Cross-train laboratory team members in all areas of the dental laboratory.
  • Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to quality.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of new laboratory products, technologies, and processes.
  • Help establish and maintain consistent technical and quality standards.

Clinical & Organizational Collaboration
  • Communicate regularly with the Regional Manager of Laboratory Excellence and applicable organizational leadership.
  • Participate actively in the ACI Laboratory Network.
  • Consult with the Chief Clinical Officer and practice team on individual patient cases.
  • Use a high degree of professional judgment when determining appropriate laboratory solutions on a patient-by-patient basis.
  • Collaborate with clinical and laboratory teams to support efficient case completion and excellent patient outcomes.
  • Follow established OSHA protocols and dental laboratory safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on dental laboratory technical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical supervisory or management role.
  • Significant professional experience fabricating dentures from start to finish.
  • Expert knowledge of complete dentures and removable prosthetics.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, training, or developing dental laboratory technicians.
  • Strong understanding of dental science, anatomy, occlusion, and esthetics.
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, during the normal business hours of the laboratory and practice.

Preferred Experience
  • Denture and implant experience preferred, but implant experience is not required.
  • Same-day denture experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with full-arch hybrid restorations.
  • Experience with overdentures and implant-based restorative techniques.
  • Familiarity with dental office procedures and terminology.
  • Experience implementing new dental laboratory products, technologies, or processes.
