Job description

Position Overview:

The Dentists in Lawrence is growing! Come join our team! The Dental Treatment Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating patient treatment plans, scheduling appointments, and ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and attention throughout their treatment process. This position requires a blend of excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of dental procedures and insurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction:
  • Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Help answer the phone and other clerical admin team duties
  • Discuss treatment plans with patients, explaining recommended procedures, costs, and insurance coverage.
  • Answer any patient questions or concerns related to treatments, insurance, and scheduling.
  • Ensure all patient information is updated accurately in the system.
  • Treatment Coordination:
  • Work closely with the dentist and other dental staff to ensure smooth flow of treatments.
  • Schedule patient appointments, including follow-up visits, and manage appointment reminders.
  • Coordinate and prepare all necessary materials for patient treatments.
  • Communicate with patients about pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
  • Making 10 calls per day to re-activate patient accounts.
  • Insurance Verification and Billing:
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients before treatment.
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and payment options.
  • Work with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
  • Follow up with patients on outstanding balances and assist in financial arrangements when necessary.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Maintain patient files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage office schedules and ensure the efficient use of time.
  • Review reports from office’s analytics software.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in dental assisting or office administration is a plus.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a dental office or healthcare environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of dental procedures and terminology is preferred, but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental office management software Dentrix is preferred, but not required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex treatment plans in simple terms.
  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly, patient, and empathetic approach to working with diverse patients.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Understanding of dental insurance policies and claims procedures is highly desirable.
