Key Responsibilities:
* Patient Care and Assistance:
Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, including procedures such as fillings, cleanings, extractions, crowns, and root canals.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and dental materials.
Ensure patient comfort by providing instructions and support throughout dental procedures.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
Record and update patient medical histories and treatment plans.
Monitor patient vital signs as needed, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
Manage patient intake and prepare the examination room for each procedure.
* Administrative Support:
Schedule patient appointments and confirm visits.
Maintain accurate patient records in both physical and digital formats.
Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages to the dentist.
Assist in maintaining inventory, ordering dental supplies, and ensuring adequate stock levels.
Handle billing, insurance verification, and processing payments.
Provide patients with post-treatment instructions and care as directed by the dentist.
* Sterilization and Infection Control:
Adhere to safety, infection control, and sterilization procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
Sterilize and disinfect dental equipment, tools, and work areas.
Ensure that all equipment is in working order and properly maintained.
* Clinical Support:
Assist with dental impressions, molds, and other diagnostic tests.
Prepare and mix dental materials such as amalgam, cement, and impression materials.
Maintain and organize the dental office's instruments and equipment.
Assist in the preparation and application of fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive procedures.
* Patient Education:
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment care.
Assist in providing information on the importance of regular dental check-ups and good oral health practices.
Salary Range
Full-time $18 - $23 per hour
Salary based on experience.
