Job description

Job Title: Director

Pay Range: $156,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year

The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Plan, organize, coordinate and maintain daily infection control activities on an inpatient and outpatient level including patients of all ages. Cooperate with other technical/professional staff in sharing information and ideas and resolving interdisciplinary problems. Prepare reports and statistics based on regulatory requirements, system direction and on an ad hoc, ongoing or request basis. Facilitate the Infection Control Committee. Develop and maintain relevant statistical data. Act as a resource to individuals, department heads and committees. Services as a member of selected hospital committees. Identifies educational needs related to Infection Control and implements needed programs. Other duties as assigned. Maintains compliance with requirements and standards of regulatory agencies. See specific duties as appended. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred,
  • Three to five years experience in healthcare,
  • Leadership experience required,
  • One to three years in Infection Control
  • Certification in Infection Control required,
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure registration with the New Jersey Board of Nursing,

Scheduling Requirements

  • Shift: Day
  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates professional conduct that is governed by ethical codes of behavior.
  • Develops requested statistical reports on a regular and ad hoc basis. Develops plans to maintain safety during construction. Works with other parties to develop Infection Control Risk Assessments for planned or emergent construction projects.
  • Ensures daily surveillance of patient or staff situations that could lead to infection and mitigates the risk to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Establishes yearly goals and objectives and evaluates Infection Control Program.
  • Identify individual and generic educational needs. Conducts inservice training to meet needs. Supports and staffs the Infection Control Committee activity.
