Overview

We are looking for a Senior Denodo Data Engineer with hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting data virtualization and logical data-management solutions. The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of experience with data-engineering skills, practical Denodo experience, and exposure to comparable data-virtualization, federated-query, and modern cloud data platforms.

This role will focus on delivering scalable, reusable, secure, and high-performing data services for analytics, reporting, operational use cases, and AI-enabled solutions.

Experience with Denodo is strongly preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in comparable tools will also be considered, particularly where that experience demonstrates transferable skills in data federation, data integration, semantic modeling, governance, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support virtual data views, logical data models, and governed data services using Denodo.
  • Build reusable semantic and logical data layers to enable consistent, self-service access to trusted enterprise data.
  • Develop and optimize data-integration and data-virtualization solutions for analytics, reporting, operational, and AI use cases.
  • Integrate Denodo with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, cloud services, files, and modern data platforms.
  • Connect and model data from enterprise source systems such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, SQL Server, and other structured and semi-structured sources.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, virtual views, transformations, and data services.
  • Support query optimization, caching strategies, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, analysts and business teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Apply data governance, security, privacy, access-control, and data-quality practices within Denodo and connected platforms.
  • Document technical designs, logical and physical data models, source-to-target mappings, implementation details, and operational runbooks.
Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience with Denodo, including development and support of virtual data views, data services, logical data models, and integrations.
  • Experience with data virtualization, federated queries, logical data layers, semantic modeling, or data-service development.
  • Experience with one or more comparable technologies, such as:
    • Collibra or Microsoft Purview
    • Microsoft Fabric
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Databricks
    • Snowflake
  • Strong understanding of data integration, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data warehousing, lakehouse, and analytics concepts.
  • Experience working with relational, structured, and semi-structured data, including SQL, JSON, XML, CSV, Parquet, and API-based data.
  • Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience using source control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Azure DevOps.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience in Metadata Management Tools
  • Experience integrating Denodo with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure services, Databricks, Snowflake, or enterprise data warehouses.
