Job description

Job Purpose

As a key member of the Demand Planning team, the Demand Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining the production plan using analytics and business intelligence in collaboration with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance. As a key facilitator of the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, the Demand Planner will consider all stages of the product life cycle from product introduction, through commercialization and end of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze demand to determine a stocking strategy and target inventory level for each product.
  • Review unit forecast and sales data to develop a rolling 18 month production plan for internal and external manufacturing facilities in alignment with our stocking targets
  • Issue and manage orders to lead-time for stocked items
  • Provide customer service with available-to-promise and product lead-time data
  • Monitor sales orders for manufactured-to-order items and issue orders to internal and external manufacturing facilities
  • Provide an interface between sales and customer service to operations and distribution centers
  • Issue transfer orders to position product in service centers for installation
  • Monitor slow moving or aging inventory and work with sales to drive orders or work with finance to disposition
  • Utilize the EnerSys Operating System (EOS) tools to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in all planning and forecasting processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations or customer service
  • Proficient with ERP systems (Baan preferred, but SAP, Syteline or other also considered)
  • Adept with Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional activities in a global, matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or similar industry certifications
  • Experience with Baan
