Job Description:

Role Overview

The Senior Supply Planner is responsible for developing and executing supply plans that ensure material availability, supply continuity, and production readiness across the global Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) supply chain. This role serves as a critical link between demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, suppliers, and order fulfillment to balance customer demand, supplier capacity, inventory investment, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing complex supply chains involving critical BESS components, including battery cells/modules/packs, PCS (Power Conversion Systems), TMS (Thermal Management Systems), enclosures, and other electro-mechanical assemblies. This individual will leverage SAP/ERP systems and advanced planning tools to support scalable, world-class supply planning processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Planning
  • Develop and maintain short-, mid-, and long-term supply plans to support global customer demand and manufacturing requirements.
  • Balance supply availability, production capacity, inventory targets, and supplier constraints to achieve service and financial objectives.
  • Translate demand plans into actionable supply and replenishment strategies.
  • Drive end-to-end material readiness to support manufacturing and customer delivery commitments.
  • Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent disruptions.
Capacity & Supply Assurance
  • Analyze supplier capacity and capability to support current and future demand requirements.
  • Partner with Procurement and Suppliers to ensure adequate capacity for batteries, PCS, TMS, enclosures, and critical long-lead components.
  • Develop supply scenarios and contingency plans for constrained materials.
  • Support allocation decisions during periods of supply shortages.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively address risks impacting supply continuity.
Inventory Management
  • Establish and maintain inventory strategies aligned with service level and working capital objectives.
  • Optimize safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and planning parameters.
  • Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and develop corrective action plans.
  • Drive inventory health through disciplined planning processes and continuous review.
Cross-Functional Planning
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning to align supply plans with the consensus demand forecast.
  • Partner with Order Fulfillment and Master Scheduling teams to ensure executable production and delivery plans.
  • Work closely with Procurement Operations to manage PO execution and supplier commitments.
  • Support executive S&OP and S&Oe processes through supply analysis and recommendations.
  • Communicate supply constraints, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
ERP & Planning System Excellence
  • Maintain planning data integrity within SAP and associated planning systems.
  • Ensure accuracy of planning parameters, lead times, sourcing information, and material master data.
  • Drive compliance with supply planning processes and system governance standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, planning effectiveness, and data quality.
BESS Supply Chain Support
  • Manage supply planning activities across key BESS commodities and assemblies including:
  • Battery Cells, Modules, and Packs
  • Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
  • Thermal Management Systems (TMS)
  • Electrical Components
  • Enclosures
  • Balance of System (BOS) Materials
  • Support new product introductions, supplier transitions, capacity expansions, and localization initiatives.
  • Coordinate planning activities across global manufacturing locations and contract manufacturing partners.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in Supply Planning, Materials Planning, Production Planning, S&OP, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), battery manufacturing, energy storage, power electronics, or related industries.
  • Experience managing complex global supply chains involving OEMs and strategic suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of MRP, inventory planning, replenishment methodologies, capacity planning, and supply assurance.
  • Experience with SAP, SAP S/4HANA, or comparable ERP/MRP systems.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing supply plans for: Battery OEMs PCS manufacturers Thermal Management suppliers Metal fabrication and enclosure manufacturing partners APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience supporting contract manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced capabilities in Power BI, Excel and supply chain analytics.
  • Experience working within global, multi-region planning organizations.
