Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Demand Planning & Inventory Analyst to join our team. This role will support demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and excess inventory initiatives to help ensure appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess, obsolete, and aged inventory.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, Production, Purchasing, Finance, and Supply Chain to analyze data, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed business decisions. This position will also play an important role in the company’s transition to SAP.

Requirements:
  • Develop and maintain customer, product, and channel-level demand forecasts.
  • Analyze historical sales, customer demand, trends, seasonality, promotions, and new product activity.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages, overages, excess, slow-moving, and aged inventory.
  • Support strategies to reduce obsolete inventory, write-offs, and excess inventory.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to identify opportunities for promotions, closeout programs, and alternative sales channels.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Production to understand inventory availability, production schedules, and capacity constraints.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards related to forecasts, inventory levels, inventory turns, product velocity, excess inventory, and other key metrics.
  • Analyze data and translate findings into clear recommendations for management.
  • Support the company’s SAP implementation through data validation, process development, testing, reporting, and inventory planning activities.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to align customer demand, production, purchasing, and inventory objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Analytics, Operations, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory analysis, supply chain, forecasting, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to work with large data sets while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP, ERP, or inventory management systems.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with demand planning or forecasting software.
  • Power BI and dashboard development experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting an ERP implementation is preferred.

We are looking for a proactive individual who not only enjoys working with data but can also understand the business behind the numbers, identify potential issues before they become problems, and make meaningful recommendations to support the organization’s goals.
