Job description

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Family Medicine physician to provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services in Tucumcari, NM. This full-time role involves leading and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. The position offers a unique opportunity to make a difference within a supportive healthcare system committed to clinician well-being and innovative care models.

Practice Info

  • Outpatient, primary care services
  • Works collaboratively with a team including nurses, medical assistants, case and care managers, behavioral health clinicians, pharmacist clinicians, and clerical staff
  • 18-20 patients per day
  • APP support
  • Serves as a model site for the growth and development of value aligned care
  • Part of Presbyterian's Regional Delivery System, a network of six hospitals and medical centers throughout rural New Mexico

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses with a focus on access, cost management, and reduced ED and hospital utilization
  • Make professional medical judgments in the care of patients seen
  • Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic x-ray and lab tests
  • Prescribe treatments, medications, and non-pharmacologic therapies with a strong alignment toward value
  • Document all patient encounters and communications appropriately
  • Manage the provider/patient relationship
  • Receive and resolve patient complaints
  • Involved in education and counseling of individuals, families, and groups
