Job description

CLASS 1 OR 3Q DELIVERY MATERIAL HANDLERS
(Full-time, permanent)ย 


Delivery Material Handlers work in teams and are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, unloading and placement of building materials onto residential, commercial and industrial building construction sites in Red Deer and surrounding areas.ย ย 


DUTIES


  • Deliver, unload and place building materials in a timely and safe manner, while adhering to assigned route and schedule
  • Operate remote controlled picker cranes, rough terrain forklifts and conveyers
  • Drive 4/5 axle trucks with tridem pup trailers to jobsitesย 
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Perform pre and post trip safety inspections
  • Maintain interior cleanliness of assigned unit
  • Complete required paperwork and job site hazard assessment
  • Report exterior damage or mechanical deficiencies as soon as noted
  • Comply with provincial laws, regulations, OHS and company policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3Q driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstractย 
  • Previous experience driving delivery trucks and operating other machinery
  • Ability to work at heights (residential rooftop deliveries)
  • General labourer experience
  • Ability to lift up to 120 lbs repeatedly and for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, carry, and lift heavy, bulky items
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check
