Company Overview: Dells Materials Company is a leading provider of Ready-Mix Concrete and Aggregate Hauling in Minnehaha, Lake, and Moody Counties. We are committed to safety, quality, and excellence in service. Join our team and be a part of our success story!


Position Overview: Ready Mix Drivers play a crucial role in our operations by operating heavy-duty gasoline or diesel-powered tandem, rear axle, or single unit vehicles to transport ready-mix, aggregate, water, materials, and equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Communicate with customers and dispatch regarding product delivery and other important information.
  • Safely deliver products to project locations in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment as needed.
  • Secure items for transport and maintain proper load balance.
  • Complete daily driver inspections and promptly report any issues to supervisors or fleet managers.
  • Maintain accurate truck logs in compliance with government regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain truck and construction equipment.
  • Operate hand and power tools as necessary.
  • Adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and participate in Company-wide safety goals.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record; CDL Class B required.
  • Tanker endorsement and medical card are optional but useful.
  • Forklift Operator certification (provided by Dells Materials Company).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Equipment operator experience is helpful.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work when required.
  • Position is subject to seasonal winter layoff periods.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Regular standing and frequent walking.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally more than 100 pounds.
  • Multiple entries and exits from trucks/equipment during the day.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and loud noise.
  • Occasional exposure to high places, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold/heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
