Description

In search of a Class A Delivery Driver to provide excellent customer service while delivery drinks to stores.

Job Summary: The Delivery Driver will drive a tractor trailer, deliver, and merchandise all stops on route, provide customers with timely delivery and friendly service, maintain a constant professional image and service all accounts thoroughly. Delivery Drivers include Driver Trainees, Swing Drivers, Night Bulk, and Bay Drivers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lives and models BROWN VALUES in everything we do.
  • Operate an iPhone and related equipment.
  • Reports to the delivery supervisor for special instructions, location of accounts, delivery times, etc.
  • Log in to GEOTAB.
  • Inspect the appearance of the vehicle, inside and out, and perform a daily pre-trip inspection.
  • Servicing each account in the order specified by the Route Manifest.
  • Parking the truck so as not to block or hinder access to the account's customers in any way.
  • Greeting the customers with a warm and friendly greeting.
  • Delivering all products to the account as specified on the invoice and having it checked by an employee of that account.
  • Clean racks, coolers, vendors and any other equipment or areas where products are located.
  • Organizing the backroom stock and rotating product.
  • Filling shelves, facing product out, and sometimes pricing product.
  • Picking up empty/extra shells. Do not leave any carts/pods/pallets in your account without the approval of a delivery supervisor.
  • Straightening up the backroom stock (A neat backroom is as necessary as a neat and clean beverage section).
  • Collecting or charging for all merchandise which is specified on the sales invoice.
  • Thanking your customers and creating and maintaining goodwill in all accounts.
  • After delivering all stops, the driver must prepare the truck for check-in. When arriving at the plant, have his/her truck checked by a Check-in Supervisor.
  • Filling the vehicle with fuel (checking all fluids) at the end of the day and filling out a post-trip report.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs. continuously and 60 lbs. intermittently.
  • Able to push/pull a cart weighing up to 800 pounds.
  • Drive a tractor trailer, including entering and exiting the cab of the truck multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a frequent basis.

Work Environment:

  • Working in both cold and hot temperatures.
  • Tolerate working in cold beverage coolers as low as 35 degrees.
  • Work both indoors and outside in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A driver's license and approved driving record.
  • Valid DOT medical card.
  • Ability to operate ordering and tracking electronic devices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers and managers.
