Job description

Delivery Driver

We are a growing and busy construction supply firm looking for a full-time delivery driver. Will train the right candidate.

Our company is located in Carmel, NY. We supply and manufacture various types of permanent and temporary signage in lower New York, Western Connecticut, and Northern Jersey Areas as well as supply various traffic control and safety related items. Growth opportunities are available as we like to promote from within.

We offer a competitive compensation package, $22 - $25+ per hour for this position to start, rate based on experience. Benefits include - Paid Time Off, Health Insurance, Paid Holidays, other benefits available after the 90-day probationary period. Overtime available as needed by management.

Responsibilities include –

  • Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
  • Transport and deliver products safely and securely.
  • Daily vehicle inspections, cleaning, and fluid monitoring, DPF Regens as needed.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled, clean and ready for use.
  • Check assigned loaded truck for accurate load and proper strapping prior to leaving facility.
  • Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using GPS and other navigation applications to find delivery locations.
  • Interact with clients and staff professionally.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Provide accurate reports and take part in constructive collaboration when problems arise.
  • Independent and critical thinking.
  • Forklift Operation (Will Train)
  • During the slower times of the year additional responsibilities may include cleaning and painting equipment, general maintenance, warehouse cleanup, annual inventory, and other special projects.
  • Qualifications -

    • High School Graduate or Equivalent Preferred but not Required.
    • Valid Driver's License (Must Be Able to Pass MVR Screening)
    • Must pass a DOT Physical prior to final employment offer.
    • Confidence with driving in NYC and surrounding areas.
    • Some driving experience with box or rack trucks (non CDL) a plus but will train the right candidate.
    • Critical thinking ability necessary as some delivery locations may not have a physical address.
