Description:

Prince Lumber is a premier supplier and distributor of building materials. With pride, we serve the Tri-state area as a one-stop-shop for hardware, lumber, doors, Plywood etc. Our drivers are expected to be courteous, and professional and deliver a high-quality customer service experience always.

Must be able to operate articulating boom loaders.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Unload and load trucks daily.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse team to confirm all products to be delivered are loaded onto the truck.
  • Loads and/or unloaded materials that require the operation of a crane/boom by rigging, planning and hoisting a variety of heavy construction materials onto delivery trucks.
  • Calculates the boom/crane capacities and weights and checks clearances so that buildings, hydro wires and foundation of the machine will not be damaged during operation.
  • Calculates weight of materials to ensure it is not over weight limits of the truck and/or DOT regulations.
  • Inspects and maintains crane/boom equipment in order to ensure safety and prevent damage to equipment and surrounding structures.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and follow traffic laws and any relevant safety protocols when operating the truck.
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service while making deliveries, which includes meeting expected time frames, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the product upon delivery, maintaining a positive attitude and following any special instructions.
  • Obtain necessary Proof of Delivery photographs and signatures from customers to confirm delivery of product.
  • Research and understand the most efficient routes throughout NY to ensure deliveries are being made in a timely manner.
  • Pick up items for Customer returns.
  • Keep truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Inspect vehicles for any issues and perform preventative maintenance.
