Job description

Job Summary

The Driver position is a safety-sensitive position that requires a high degree of responsibility transporting staff, patients, and visitors in a safe, timely and professional manner. The driver must be able to operate vehicle in all weather and driving conditions with multiple distractions. Drivers are required to perform vehicle inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning duties. They are also responsible for monitoring parking areas and grounds for potential security issues.

Essential Functions
  • Provides transportation for employees, guests and community groups to and from various locations
  • Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment. Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate
  • Uses the radio to appropriately communicate with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while in route.
  • Monitors parking area and grounds for suspicious activity or hazards and reports them to the appropriate department
  • Ensures appropriate documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations and department policy
Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Must have excellent driving record
  • LIC-Driver's License - Endorsement P (Passenger) - State MI State of Michigan Exclude Mission Control 30 Days
  • LIC-Chauffeur License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Mission Control may use Heartsaver 90 Days : OR
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Mission Control may use Heartsaver 90 Days
  • LIC-Commercial Drive License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Exclude Mission Control
