Job description

Job Summary

The Local Delivery Driver for The Restaurant Store is responsible for handling the loading and delivery of orders for local customers. The Local Delivery Driver is expected to perpetuate high levels of customer service while navigating delivery routes and completing threshold-level delivery services. In the event of any downtime or lapse of orders, the Local Delivery Driver is expected to serve as an Order Fulfillment Associate within the store itself, assisting with daily customer order fulfillment responsibilities. 

Responsibilities
  • Organize and load picked and prepared customer orders into delivery van according to order of delivery 
  • Complete daily delivery route(s) according to order identified using approved company software 
  • Professionally and politely interact with customers and deliver product to customer locations according to company policy 
  • Effectively refer customers to a member of the Sales team to answer relevant questions 
  • Maintain general cleanliness of delivery van 
  • Complete daily inspection of delivery van according to company policies 
  • Perform additional tasks and support initiatives as assigned by management to ensure smooth location operations and alignment with overall business goals 
  • Assist with store operational tasks as needed 
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 9 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Experience
  • Class C license and a clean driving record.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
