Duties and responsibilities

  • Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Reviewing and verifying invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
  • Preparing, loading, and delivering a wide variety of Italian Centre Shop products to clients within the city and surrounding areas as requested.
  • After delivery, go over the order with the client and double-check it against the invoice.
  • Establishing and maintaining outstanding relations with customers.
  • Engaging with customers, answering questions, and promoting products and services enhances loyalty, sales, and profits.
  • Assisting in the loading and unloading of products from trucks in a safe manner.
  • Processing transactions accurately and efficiently by reviewing the packing and delivery slips and invoices.
  • Delivering high-quality products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Promoting a positive company image by actively engaging with employees, customers, suppliers, and the community.
  • Ensuring the truck is clean and well maintained to positively represent ICS by regularly cleaning inside and out.
  • Completing a safety check of the vehicle prior to leaving ICS, including checking for damage, and doing signal and brake checks.
  • Ensure that regular truck maintenance is completed, including checking oil, fluids, tires, signals, and brakes; notify the manager immediately if any maintenance is required.
  • Filling out logs as directed by the manager.
  • Ensuring a log is kept of all returns, including the reason for the return (wrong product, unaware of price, etc.), and reporting returns to the manager daily.
  • Being aware of and following basic inventory and waste guidelines.
  • Adhering to shipping and receiving policies and procedures.
  • Loading and unloading products from trucks.
  • Receiving merchandise and ensuring the shipment content matches invoices and orders.
  • Picking, packing, sealing, and labelling products to prepare them for shipping.
  • Stocking shelves with received shipments, using the appropriate sorting and organization system and equipment.
  • Moving products around a warehouse using a pallet jack.
  • Working collaboratively as a team and assisting other teams when required.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized working environment.
  • Building pallets and picking orders.
  • Representing ICS both in and out of the store.
  • Adhering to all food safety protocols, standard operating procedures, health and safety policies, and other programs and initiatives.
  • Other duties as required.

Physical requirements

  • Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Manual and repetitive tasks.
  • Frequent lifting up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs) is required.

Qualifications 

  • High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred
  • A minimum of two-year experience in a warehouse role
  • A minimum of two-year experience in a customer focused role 
  • Forklift certificate is an asset.
  • Valid class 5 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbally and written.
  •  Ability to work under pressure while always maintaining a professional image.
  • Working as a partner and/or team member with little direct supervision.
  • Having a well-balanced concern for both tasks and people.
  • Having a genuine concern for the needs of customers.
  •  Familiarity with local streets, neighborhoods, and routes.

Working Conditions

  • Required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, days, holidays and occasional weekends.
  • Required at times to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
  • Exposed to hot and cold environments. (freezers, coolers, Indoors, outdoors, in all weather conditions)
  • Exposed to loud noises and moving equipment.
