What is a delivery courier resume?

A Delivery Courier Resume is a professional document that outlines your experience, skills, and qualifications for the role of a delivery courier. It typically includes sections such as your contact information, a summary or objective, work history, relevant skills, and education. This resume highlights your ability to deliver packages efficiently, knowledge of local routes, customer service skills, and safe driving record. Creating a well-structured resume tailored to delivery courier positions can improve your chances of landing a job in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a delivery courier?

To thrive as a Delivery Courier, a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and knowledge of local routes are essential qualifications. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, delivery tracking apps, and mobile communication devices is typically required. Strong time management, customer service skills, and reliability help couriers stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and maintaining customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

What are some common challenges delivery couriers face on the job and how can they be managed?

Delivery couriers often encounter challenges such as navigating traffic congestion, meeting tight delivery deadlines, and handling adverse weather conditions. Staying organized with route planning apps and maintaining clear communication with dispatchers can help manage these issues. Additionally, practicing safe driving habits and allowing extra time for unforeseen delays can improve both efficiency and safety. Couriers who proactively address these challenges tend to perform better and may be considered for advancement opportunities in logistics or supervisory roles.

Job description

Aquatek Labs  |  Woodbridge, Connecticut
Part-time, 10 to 30 hours per week  |  Daytime hours  |  Company vehicle provided  |  No CDL required

About Aquatek Labs
For nearly 40 years, Aquatek Labs has been a trusted environmental testing laboratory serving Connecticut and the surrounding region. We test water and radon for homeowners, home inspection firms, water treatment companies, and public water supplies, and we are certified in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York. Our work helps families and communities know their water is safe.
About the Role
Our couriers are the link between our customers and our lab. You will drive a company-supplied vehicle on a daily route, picking up water and radon samples from customer sites and delivering them to our Woodbridge laboratory. Test results depend on samples arriving intact and within required holding times, so this is a job where showing up on schedule genuinely matters.
This is a good fit for someone who likes working independently, enjoys being on the road, and wants steady daytime hours with no evening or overnight work. Most of your day is spent driving and making brief, friendly stops. We provide the vehicle, the fuel, and the training.
What You Will Do
  • Pick up and deliver samples on an assigned route, primarily within Connecticut.
  • Handle samples carefully and follow chain of custody and preservation procedures. We train you on all of this.
  • Keep accurate pickup records and paperwork for each stop.
  • Represent Aquatek professionally and courteously at customer locations.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean, fueled, and road ready, and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Stay in communication with the lab throughout the day as routes change.
What We Are Looking For
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record. A motor vehicle record check and a criminal background check are part of our hiring process, since couriers are issued a company fuel card.
  • Live within a reasonable commute of Woodbridge, CT.
  • Available approximately 3 days per week between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, including Saturdays, with flexibility as route volume changes.
  • Able to lift and carry coolers weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for navigation and route updates.
  • Familiarity with Connecticut roads and good navigational sense.
  • Reliable and self-directed. Our customers count on these pickups happening on time, without supervision.
  • Previous delivery, courier, or route driving experience is a plus but is not required. No CDL needed.
Compensation and Benefits
  • $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
  • Flexible part-time schedule, generally 10 to 30 hours per week.
  • Daytime hours only. No evening or overnight routes.
  • Company vehicle and fuel provided for all work travel, so there is no wear and tear on your own car.
  • Paid on the job training.
  • A stable, established local company with steady year-round work.
How to Apply
Apply through this posting with your resume. A cover letter is not required, but please include your general availability, including which days of the week work best for you. We read every resume that comes in, and because we do this in house it can take several weeks to work through them. We appreciate your patience, and we will reach out if we would like to schedule a conversation.
